Varinder Aggarwal awarded Horst Pracejus Prize for 2025

28 May 2025

The School of Chemistry's Professor Varinder Aggarwal has been awarded the Horst Pracejus Prize for 2025 from the German Chemical Society (GDCh).

This is a prestigious award, open to scientists across the world. Presented biannually, it recognises scientists for outstanding work in the field of enantioselectivity or chirality.

The GDCh created the award in 1997 in honour of Horst Pracejus (1927-1987), who was known for his research in the field of chiral catalysis and was Head of the Catalysis Research Institute in Rostock.

Professor Aggarwal receives a certificate and €7,500 for winning the prize, which he will collect at the 'Thinking Across Boarders' conference in Karlsruhe in October 2025.
