Harry Destecroix awarded MBE in New Year Honours

Former School of Chemistry PhD student Dr Harry Destecroix has received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours list​ for services to science.

He worked under the supervision of Professor Anthony Davis before graduating in 2015.

He is the founder of Science Creates, a thriving deep-tech ecosystem to help scientists and engineers transform their discoveries into life-changing inventions: to enhance healthcare, quality of life, and the environment.

Science Creates has built two incubator laboratories in Bristol which now host around 40 science-based start-up companies.

Harry is now developing Science Creates in partnership with the University of Bristol as a key part of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. The OMX incubator will offer a global centre combining specialist facilities, a network of strategic partners, and a dedicated venture capital fund.
