Day trip: Oxford

28 Sep 2025 | 8:15am – 6:30pm | Bristol Temple Meads

Join us for an exciting day trip to the historic city of Oxford — home to one of the world’s oldest universities.

Tickets cost £33. The ticket price includes transport (from Bristol to Oxford and from Oxford to Bristol) and a guided city tour.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Study Abroad Monday Meetup: Board games + pizza

Join our regular Monday Meetup - a space to meet with other Study Abroad students whilst enjoying a range of fun (and free) activities, including crafts, film nights and board games.

Whether you're a strategic mastermind or just looking for a fun time, our Board Games night has something for everyone. The perfect chance to learn new games, make new friends and enjoy some free pizza.

Community litter picking: Clean up the Harbourside + Cat pub

1 Oct 2025 | 1:30pm – 3:30pm | Bristol Harbourside

Come join us for a fun litter pick to clean up Bristol in collaboration with Bristol Waste!

After the litter pick, we’ll head to Bristol’s famous cat pub, The Bag of Nails, for a well-earned break and a chance to relax with some furry friends! This event is a great opportunity to get outside, make new friends, and have a positive impact on the local environment. Gloves and bags will be provided.

Day trip: Cardiff

4 Oct 2025 | 10am – 6pm | Bristol Temple Meads

Join the Bristol Inbound team on a day trip to Cardiff — the vibrant heart of Wales.

Tickets cost £34. The ticket price includes transport (from Bristol to Cardiff and back from Cardiff to Bristol) and a guided tour of Cardiff Castle.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Study Abroad Monday Meetup: Sustainable candle holders

13 Oct 2025 | 5:30pm – 7:30pm | Global Lounge

Join our regular Monday Meetup - a space to meet with other Study Abroad students whilst enjoying a range of fun (and free) activities, including crafts, film nights and board games. 

At this meetup, we will be showing you how to repurpose and recycle glass jars. With a little creativity, you will leave this Monday Meetup with a glass jar candle holder to decorate your room! All materials will be provided for free.

Study Abroad Sessions: Boost your employability using study abroad 

15 Oct 2025 | 2:30pm – 3:30pm | Room 1.11 Old Council Chamber, Wills Memorial Building

Led by our Careers Service, this session will help you identify and showcase the skills and experiences gained during your time abroad. 

By attending, you'll learn how to articulate your skills effectively in your CV and discover practical steps you can take to strengthen your career prospects before graduation.

Join us for an unforgettable day trip to the historic town of Windsor, home to the iconic Windsor Castle — one of the official residences of the British Royal Family. 

Tickets cost £45. The ticket price includes a guided tour of Windsor Castle and transport (from Bristol to Windsor and from Windsor to Bristol).

Study Abroad Sessions: How to write an essay

Join our Study Abroad Academic Director for an essential session on How to write an essay, where we will break down the key components of effective essay writing.

From mastering structure and developing an argument or thesis statement to addressing your specific questions, this session will equip you with the skills needed for academic success. By the end of the session, you'll be fully prepared to tackle your next Bristol assessment with confidence!

For this Monday Meetup, we're hosting a cosy film night! We’ll be turning the Global Lounge into a cinema room, complete with popcorn and sweets — all included with your free ticket. And the best part? You’ll be the one to choose what we’re watching!

At this meetup you will learn the wonderful art of lino cutting & printing and you will leave with handmade printed cards and envelopes - perfect for the festive season. This event is a great way to embrace the festive spirit and try something new whilst making new friends.

The School of Modern Languages presents: Year Abroad on Stage (the 10th anniversary edition!)

26 November 2025 | 3pm – 5pm | Arts Complex B.H05 Lecture Theatre

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon celebrating ten years of the School of Modern Languages' show 'Year Abroad on Stage'.

Come and support our talented students from all language departments as they bring to life some of the most memorable and hilarious moments from their time abroad. Expect Italian chat-up lines, French accidents, Spanish football, Argentinian clubbing, Russian babushkas, German trains, music, and much more!

After the show, stay for a free food and drinks reception in the foyer, complete with live music and plenty of opportunities to mingle.

Join us for an bespoke session, where you’ll gain valuable insights on how to create a compelling UK postgraduate application, drawing from your time abroad.

Study Abroad Farewell party: Bowling & karaoke

8 December 2025 | 6pm – 8:30pm | The Lanes, Bristol

All good things must come to an end, sadly. Let's meet for one last event to celebrate the end of the semester as we say goodbye to many of you. 

Expect bowling, karaoke, pool tables, drinks, music and plenty of fun at The Lanes, a classic venue in Bristol city centre.

Your free ticket will include: one game of bowling, access to the pool tables, entry to the karaoke room and one drink token for the bar.

This event is free to attend. Places are limited and tickets are available on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure to book early to avoid any disappointment.
