This book provides a handy digest of what is known about the royal burial places of England, Scotland and the United Kingdom.
The career of each ruler is briefly described, followed by what is known about his or her burial arrangements and the subsequent history of the tomb and its contents, each tomb being illustrated as far as possible by at least one photograph or drawing.
The posthumous fate of royal spouses is also included, togeth- er with information on each of the cathedrals, churches, chapels and other structures that house or once housed royal tombs, together with an extensive bibliography.
