New to HPC Community of Practice

29 April 2025

High performance computing is a powerful tool for research but getting started and honing your skills can sometimes be daunting.

If you would like practical guidance, support and a community of peers to share experiences and best practices with, we warmly invite you to join our New to HPC Community of Practice.

This group is for everyone who have recently started to integrate HPC into their work (within the last year). Whether you’re new to running workloads or further exploring how HPC can accelerate your research, the community will provide a supportive space to:

✅ Share tips and experiences
✅ Learn best practices from fellow researchers
✅ Connect with colleagues across disciplines
✅ Build your confidence and skills in using HPC effectively
✅ Ask questions directly to the HPC Team

About the New to HPC Community of Practice

The community will meet monthly and will have a collaborative space for sharing advice, experiences and asking questions.

We’re excited to launch this new initiative at the University of Bristol and warmly invite you to join our kick-off meeting to explore how this community can benefit your research.

If you’d like to join or learn more, please submit the New to HPC Community of Practice form. We’ll then coordinate a convenient time for the first community meeting on Teams and send you an invitation to join.

We look forward to welcoming you to the community!
