What do the teaching blocks (TB) mean?
This Integrated Master's programme has been designated as type III: Professional, with a formal period of study abroad, in accordance with the QAA descriptors for Master's programmes. Please see the Regulations and Code of Practice for Taught Programmes for further information on this type of programme.
CHEM10003, CHEM10004 and CHEM10002 are must pass units. For the definition of must pass units please see the Glossary of Terms from Annex 1 to the Regulations and Code of Practice for Taught Programmes at http://www.bristol.ac.uk/esu/assessment/annex/glossary.html
It is necessary to pass all mandatory units. Students must also; 1. Pass all Chemistry units at the first attempt. 2. Pass language unit at the first attempt. 3. Obtain marks of at least 60% in both Introductory Chemistry and Introductory Practical Chemistry.
Students are required to achieve a mark of 50% in the second and third year in order to proceed to the fourth year of the programme. Students are required to attend all preparatory sessions and submit all requested documentation and forms by the deadlines. The distance learning aspect of the industrial placement year is must pass.

All undergraduate degree programmes allow the opportunity for a student to exit from a programme with a Diploma or Certificate of Higher Education.
Integrated Master's degrees may also allow the opportunity for a student to exit from the programme with an equivalent Bachelor's degree where a student has achieved 360 credit points, of which 90 must be at level 6, and has successfully met any additional criteria as described in the programme specification.
