Open afternoons

If you can't attend one of our June or September undergraduate open days, our open afternoons are the perfect way to explore campus and discover more about student life at the University of Bristol.

An open afternoon will give you the chance to:

  • attend welcome talks to learn what makes Bristol a special place to study;
  • get a feel for the campus on a self-guided tour, including student accommodation;
  • chat to current students and hear, first hand, about their experiences;
  • visit our exhibition, where you can gather information and meet staff from select schools and departments, accommodation, admissions and student funding.

Accessible tours are available for visitors with restricted mobility or wheelchair users.

We will publish a more detailed programme online in September.

How to book

Our 2019 open afternoons will be held 23 October and 6 November. Booking will open in September.

Find out about other opportunities to visit the university.

Open afternoons are intended to give a general introduction to the University; although select faculty representatives will be available for you to talk to, you will not be able to visit any academic departments. The opportunity to visit academic departments will be at our open days, applicant interviews or offer-holder visit days.

Disabled access

The University has teamed up with DisabledGo to provide you with detailed information about the accessibility of our facilities.

Self-guided walking tour

If you are unable to make one of our open days, open afternoons or campus tours, you can take a self-guided tour, narrated by current students.
