About BSc Economics and Politics with Study Abroad
This course provides the opportunity to pursue an interest in politics and international relations alongside the study of economics, within a four-year integrated programme that includes a year studying in English at one of our partner universities overseas.
This course combination offers an enriching experience with exciting intellectual challenges, in two schools with strong reputations for teaching and research. By studying these two social sciences you will develop a deep understanding of global markets and political systems.
Economics study is based on a series of core units in the first and second years covering economics and econometrics, as well as optional units. You will also study the politics of individual countries and governments, and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals. Politics is organised around three themes: political theory, comparative and national politics, and international relations.
Your first and second years are the same as for BSc Economics and Politics. You will then spend your third year studying modules in economics and politics abroad, before returning to Bristol for your final year. Visit Global Opportunities to find out more about where you can study abroad.
Your final year allows you to choose options according to your interests. Half of your options must be in the discipline of economics and the other half in politics.
