These pages are designed to enable schools and colleges to access the outreach work that we currently undertake.
Our activities are wide-ranging. Much of our work is involved in raising awareness of, and aspirations to, higher education generally, working with students of all ages from those of primary school age to those who may have left the classroom decades ago. The University also has an important role to play in serving the local community and is committed to working with local schools and colleges to help raise levels of attainment. Our mentors and tutors work with schools across the region, supporting staff and students over the course of a year with the aim of creating a sense of excitement about learning and inspiring young people to fulfil their potential.
We also have a range of initiatives designed to enrich the curriculum for local learners and encourage students to think about their higher education choices. The Access to Bristol scheme does exactly this, encouraging academically motivated students to study with us on an academic stream of their choice over the course of a year. We are constantly developing our activities and welcome new ideas from you as to how we might further support your students’ attainment.
