Undergraduate students can apply to their Local Authority for a means-tested Childcare Grant. The Local Authority will also determine whether the student is entitled to receive a Parents Learning Allowance to assist with course-related costs.

Some local schools run after-school activities or holiday playschemes, though none are provided by the University. Details of registered childminders, nurseries, playgroups, pre-schools, out-of-school clubs and holiday playschemes are available from the Children's Information Service for Bristol (CIS), tel 0845 129 7217 or email enquiries@cisbristol.co.uk.
