Welcome to Bristol

A warm welcome to all new students from the Student Services team. We hope you are enjoying being here.

We offer a range of services to support you. We understand that thinking about support in your first few weeks may feel unnecessary so we ask that you bookmark this site for future reference, and remember us if you need to.

Members of the team are doing 15 minute talks to groups of students in schools and halls throughout the first week.

Student Services leaflet

Where can I get a copy of your 'Who is here to help you?' leaflet during Introductory Week (1-5 October)?

We have a short leaflet which gives a brief summary of what we do and how to contact us.

  • Students moving into halls or student houses are being issued with a copy with their room key
  • Students registering with the Students' Health Service will be given a copy if they don't already have one
  • Fresh on Thursday and Friday
  • The Arts Postgraduate Fair on Friday
  • The welcome helpdesk outside the Hawthorns on Woodland Road
  • UBU Info Point on Tyndall Avenue
  • Any of the Student Services (Student Counselling, Students' Health, Multifaith Chaplaincy, Disability Services, Careers)
  • Senate House reception, Tyndall Avenue
  • Staff giving talks in schools will have spare copies with them

Is there anything I should do now?

Everyone should be registered with a GP and we recommend that you register with the Students' Health Service before you need to make an appointment (though we can see new patients on the day they register if necessary). If you have a disability and would like support, or you suspect you have a disability, please contact Disability Services.
