Languages (non-English)

If you're looking to learn a foreign language the Applied Foreign Languages programme offers open units to undergraduate students. If you are able to study open units as part of your course, you can choose units from a range of languages and levels.

The language open units are available to undergraduate students in any year who are new to the University or haven't studied an open unit before. There are also units specifially for returning students who have already studied a language open unit.

Some units are offered to students on particular degree courses, such as languages for medical studies, or for those students who will spend a year studying in continental Europe.
