GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Programme

The 2008/2009 academic year marked the final year of the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Programme in the United Kingdom after a successful six years.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) and the GE Foundation are proud of all that has been accomplished through this programme, the main result of which has been to support outstanding low-income undergraduate students in becoming tomorrow's leaders by providing winners with greater educational opportunities and in turn encouraging active participation in society.

The Program has altogether recognized 79 outstanding undergraduates from 6 participating universities in the UK for their academic excellence and leadership potential. Besides their academic achievements they have also made a positive impact on their local communities through the programme's community service component and on their own initiative.
