Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship
Supporting students with exceptional musical, dramatic or sporting talent within or outside of their field of academic study.
The Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship supports students with outstanding potential in drama, music, or sport.
The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship provides an award of £1,552 in three instalments for one year.
Successful scholars may apply again in future years if they demonstrate exceptional ability and commitment while a recipient.
Awards are made on a competitive basis, with some minimum criteria. They are not means-tested.
Eligibility
You can apply if you are:
- Intending to study at the University of Bristol in the 2026/27 academic
- an International or Home (UK) student.
You can apply for a Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship even if you are not studying or looking to study a course within its department.
Postgraduate students are not currently able to apply for a Drama scholarship.

Assessment process
Scholarship applications are considered by:
- the Music, Drama, or Sport department
Applicants who are successful will be invited to audition / interview for a place on the scheme. The Scholarships and Bursaries team aims to notify all applicants of the outcome of their application by Thursday 30 April 2026.
