Outreach and Engagement

From presenting at science festivals to undertaking demonstations in schools, the Centre for Quantum Photonics is passionate about bringing the University closer to the wider community.

We aim to inform the general public about our research and how the work we are doing will revolutionise technologies in the years to come.

We believe that people find quantum physics difficult to grasp because it is not intuitive – quantum systems behave in ways that are not seen in our normal day-to-day lives. Through a series of events, we have engaged with people of all ages who are interested in learning more about the world around us.

From working with future Brunels through our lab tours and demonstrations to teaching young adults through our week-long summer school, we hope to encourage the next generation of Quantum Physicists and Engineers.

To get involved yourself, why not try out your own experiments on our quantum simulator via our Quantum in the Cloud!
