Our MA in Philosophy develops the knowledge and skills required for advanced philosophical research while giving you the flexibility to pursue your own philosophical interests in depth.

As a postgraduate researcher, you will be an active member of the department's research community. You will be encouraged to take part in our regular events, including research seminars, workshops and reading groups. You can also participate in a dedicated weekly postgraduate seminar, providing a supportive environment in which to discuss research with other postgraduate students.
You will also have access to the Bristol Doctoral College's skills training programme, helping you develop a wider range of academic and professional skills. You may also have opportunities to teach undergraduates, with training provided to support you and the opportunity to gain formal accreditation.
