Professor Corinna Ulcigrai - inaugural lecture

P‌rofessor of Pure Mathematics
School of Mathematics

This lecture took place on Wednesday 30 November 2016

Billiards, Pretzels and Chaos

Billiard tables are usually rectangular. What happens if we change their shape? In this lecture Professor Corinna Ulcigrai explained how mathematical billiards and other simple models can help us come to grips with chaos and understand underlying mechanisms which make even simple systems hard to predict.
