News that archaeologists from the University of Bristol have unearthed a unique slave burial ground on the remote South Atlantic island of St Helena was covered by The Guardian, British Archaeology and local media.
The excavation, carried out by Dr Andrew Pearson and colleagues from the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, took place in advance of construction of a new airport on the island. A book detailing the excavations is published by the Council for British Archaeology.
