Bristol University is awarding honorary degrees to two prominent people at today’s degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building [Thursday 17 July].

Professor Sir Brian Hoskins, FRS, Climatologist; Professor of Meteorology, University of Reading, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Science at the 11.15 am ceremony.

Dr Philip Campbell, Editor in Chief, Nature, and a Bristol graduate, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Science at the 2.30 pm ceremony.

An honorary degree is a major accolade, awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement and distinction in a field or activity consonant with the University’s mission.
