Inflammation around the clock - interactions between inflammatory circuits and circadian processes

25 January 2021, 1.00 PM - 25 January 2021, 2.00 PM

Dr Julie Gibbs (School of Biological Sciences, University of Manchester)

online

A Snapshot seminar hosted by the School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience

The circadian clock directs many aspects of animal physiology, allowing organisms to anticipate and adapt to the daily changes in the environment over the course of a 24h day. This biological timer is critically important for regulating immune homeostasis and responses to immune challenge. Work in my group focuses on how the circadian clock directs inflammatory responses, but also addresses the impact of inflammation on the circadian clock and clock regulated processes.
