Schools outreach
Our outreach work aims to raise aspiration and attainment. It gives school pupils, college students and others in the community an insight into what studying at a top university would be like - and the confidence and assistance they need to apply.
- Pathways to lawThis two year programme supports local, academically able students, giving them the chance to experience lectures and seminars on various aspects of law from the University's internationally recognised law academics. It also includes opportunties for a work placement, e-mentoring and advice and guidance sessions.
- Human Rights ClassesUndergraduates studying Constitutional Rights as part of their Law degree play a role in introducing Year 9 and Year 10 students from inner city schools to the concept of human rights, providing teaching sessions on the Human Rights Act both in class, and virtually online.
- Sutton Trust Summer SchoolThe Law School runs a subject stream for the Sutton Trust Summer School which offers school pupils the opportunity to experience student life in one of the UK's most exciting cities and get a taste of the undergraduate courses offered by the University.
- Interactive 'Taster' LecturesThese lectures are one-off events designed to give school and college pupils a taster of a university lecture. They are combined with general information and advice about studying at university.
