8 February 2023, 5.00 PM - 8 February 2023, 7.00 PM

Lady Hale Moot Court 8-10 Berkeley Square

The new University of Bristol Centre for Private and Commercial Law will be formally launched on 8 February 2023 starting at 17.00-19.00 in the Lady Hale Moot Court 8-10 Berkeley Square. Join us to celebrate this international centre of excellence for critical scholarship, teaching and public engagement with private and commercial law.

There will be a short introduction to the new Centre about its goals and objectives, centre members and their work.

This event will be followed by the book launch of Vicarious Liability in the Common Law World (Hart, 2022) edited by Professor Paula Giliker, the co-director of Centre. This collection responds to uncertainties as to the operation of vicarious liability in 21st century tort law by looking at key common law jurisdictions and asking expert scholars to set out and critically analyse the law, identifying factors influencing change and the extent to which case-law from other common law jurisdictions has been influential. We are delighted to announce the following panel of speakers:
