Title: Uncovering the genetic architecture of depression – and putting it to good use

Biography: 

Andrew McIntosh is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh and a consultant psychiatrist with NHS Lothian. He leads the Generation Scotland Expert Working Group for Psychiatric Disorders and co-chairs the Major Depressive Disorder Working Group of the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC). He seeks to identify the causes and consequences of depression using genomic approaches and by linking to imaging and large and routinely collected health datasets.
