Bristol's German Department has a high reputation for teaching and research. We attract highly qualified students who study a broadly based but flexible curriculum. At its core is a well-established language teaching programme, but the Bristol Department also covers:

Photo of Department BuildingThe teaching programme combines an introduction to the key disciplines within German studies, as well as the opportunity to follow an unusually wide range of options geared to personal interests. There is an active students' German Society, which organises regular cultural and social events and visits to German cities, and produces a German play every year.
