The Inside Track Seminar on Career Options for Research Postgraduates

20 March 2014, 1.00 PM - 20 March 2014, 1.00 PM

This session brings together a small panel to offer their personal experience of the value in completing postgraduate research before entering their current profession and the different routes available after completing a PhD in an Engineering or related field.
The panel will consist of Simon McIntosh-Smith (Head of Microelectronics Group and University of Bristol Business Fellow, Department of Computer Science), Rhodri Watkins (Frazer-Nash Consultancy) and Matteo Bianchi (Rolls-Royce). They will offer an insight into some of the different areas in which research can be undertaken, including academia and industry, as well as the option of embarking on a new and unrelated career.

Whether you are a postgraduate looking for ideas about future career plans, or an undergraduate interested in where a PhD can take you, this should be a fascinating seminar.

Aside from the panel, Dr Samantha Cathro, the University’s Postgraduate Careers Adviser will also attend this seminar to answer any questions.

Date - Thursday 20th March 2014

Time - 1-2pm

Location - Room 1.8 (Queen’s Building)
