Postgraduate graduation 2015
20 February 2015
The School was delighted to welcome back students from the 2013/14 academic year along with friends and family for the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony on 10 February 2015.
The Graduation Ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building at 11.15am, and was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Eric Thomas. An Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree was also awarded this year to James Wadsworth in recognition of his service to the University, having served as a member of the Council, Treasurer and Chair of the Audit Committee from 2007 to 2012.
James is a retired chartered accountant, having joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1971 and becoming a partner of the firm in 1983 at the age of just 32. During his career he advised many large organisations and specialised in advising on management buy outs, headed the Audit and Advisory Services for the South West and Wales and established Corporate Finance Practice.
Following the formal Degree Ceremony, the School held a Graduation Tea Party at Goldney Hall with entertainment provided by the Irena String Quartet from the Bristol University Music Society. This was an excellent opportunity for our new graduates and their guests to meet with the School staff that have assisted and supported them throughout their studies.
