Tell us about your disability

If you have a disability, health or mental health condition, or specific learning difficulty, tell us so we can help support you in your studies. You can contact us at any time during your studies, including if you have just received an offer, are in your first year, or are in your final few months.

If you are applying to University

If you are applying to study at Bristol then we strongly encourage you to tell us about your disability when you fill out your application.

The University will consider your application using the same criteria as for all applicants. Disclosing your disability will not affect your chances of receiving an offer.

If we can’t provide the support you need, or if there are overriding concerns about health and safety or professional fitness to practice requirements, we will work closely with you to explore the available options so that you can make an informed choice about accepting an offer to study at the University.

If you are a current student at the University

You can talk to us at any point during your studies. It does not matter if you have not previously told us about a disability or condition. Or you might find yourself struggling and feel that you want to investigate getting a diagnosis.

You can contact your School Disability Coordinator to start discussions or contact us to make an appointment with a Disability Adviser. Once you do this we can start to advise and support you.

Talk to us in confidence

We will only share information:

  • with your consent
  • with University staff and suppliers who have a role in your support.
