Fieldcourse / Laboratory Workshop

Dr Marian Yallop, Field Course Coordinator:

Every student attends a field course or workshop as part of their degree in the School of Biological Sciences. We generally run fifteen different courses, offering a very wide selection of topics. We teach in small groups with a high staff to student ratio, providing every opportunity for our students to plan their own projects and pursue and test their own ideas. Staff thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with the students, sharing their knowledge and passion for their field of expertise. Most courses involve some social events as well, with opportunities to make new friends. By the end of the course you will have acquired a range of new transferable skills and most likely, this part of your degree will be something you will never forget for all the right reasons.

You can explore our list of current courses and workshops to get a flavour for the what we offer.

Please note: These are examples of the courses we are running and, although we keep this updated regularly, some of these may not be available during your time here and new ones may be added.
