University Regulations and Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes

The purpose of the Regulations and Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes ('the Regulations and Code') is to maintain the quality and academic standards of the University's research degrees and to provide regulatory information and guidance for research postgraduates and staff.  It sets out the University's intentions for :

The Regulations and Code are based on existing good practice, and take into account internal and external developments, notably the Quality Assurance Agency's (QAA) Quality Code, Chapter B11: Research degrees.

The Regulations and Code are updated annually by the PGR Code Review Group so it is important that students and staff refer to the current edition.  Only the current edition has regulatory status and supersedes all previous editions.
