Asbestos Management
The
implementation of Stage 3 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations
2002 takes place with effect from May 2004; Regulation No. 4 - Duty to Manage
- came into force on the 21st May 2004.
These regulations place an explicit duty on the University to:-
- Locate and
identify any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM's) within the University
Estate.
- Assess the risk from ACM's.
- Take action to manage the risk.
In order to achieve compliance Building Services has implemented a Policy
and Management Plan to manage Asbestos Containing Materials occuring within
the University Estate. This Policy and Management Plan applies to all areas of the University
without exception and must be adhered to.
