BVI and MyWorld take part in Up late on the SS Great Britain
Members of The Bristol Vision Institute and My World took part in a this years "Up Late on the SS Great Britain", an opportunity for children and families to explore a huge range of fascinating, interactive and hands-on exhibits and talks showcasing cutting-edge research
Angeliki Katsenou, Jasmina Stevanov, and Laszlo Talas from the Bristol Vision Institute and members of the My World team took part in a family-friendly late opening on the grounds of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s historic ship, the SS Great Britain on the 27 of September 2024. Visitors were invited to explore a huge range of fascinating, interactive and hands-on exhibits showcasing cutting-edge research, hear first-hand accounts from researchers about their life and work through short talks, and enjoy performances and poetry readings.
The BVI and MyWorld team presented an exhibition including visual illusions, the tricks behind video compression, and examples of perplexing camouflage techniques in the natural world.
