The SmartDairy team is coordinated by the University of Galway, Ireland. The consortium, consisting of Ireland, Italy, the UK, Finland, and Germany, provides a multi-disciplinary team including agricultural and consumer economics, psychology, sociology, animal nutrition, animal genetics, agronomy and chemistry.
The team includes experts on topics such as dairy economics, innovation adoption, food systems, sustainability, GHG emissions, food supply chains, food waste, consumer studies, behaviour change, eating behaviour, product labelling, animal nutrition, rumen function, feed efficiency and additives, ecosystem pollution, and milk quality.
The SmartDairy team has experience in behavioural and economic experiments, producer and consumer surveys on sustainability issues, qualitative interview techniques, mathematical simulation modelling, focus group research, and facilitation of stakeholder engagement.
