Hartcliffe and Withywood Micro-campus

The Hartcliffe and Withywood Micro-campus is a space to bring the local communities of South Bristol and the University of Bristol closer together.

The front door of the University's Hartcliffe and Withwood Micro-campus located in the Gatehouse Centre

The Micro-campus is based in The Gatehouse Centre, a community hub managed by Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures.

It is a place where the University develops community-based teaching, research, workshops and engagement in partnership with local individuals, groups and organisations. We work with local communities on shared challenges, combining expertise to solve local and global issues together.

The University also operates the Barton Hill Micro-campus, based at the Wellspring Settlement, which has been open since 2020. The micro-campuses form part of a network of spaces linked to the University’s new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, which will include dedicated spaces to work with partners when it opens in 2026.

What's on
