Description including Unit Aims
This unit explores animation principles, character setup and visual effects production. Professional software is used as a framework to introduce fundamental concepts. The syllabus includes:
- Conceptual Design - storyboarding, character development and motion planning
- Animation - animation principles, keyframing, path and camera animation
- SDK and expressions
- Character setup - character controls, skeletons and kinematics, deformers and constraints;
- Dynamics and Simulation - soft and rigid bodies, particle and field effects
Intended Learning Outcomes
Successful completion of this unit will enable you to:
- Design and produce complex animated computer graphics
- Experience professional content production software
- Understand the fundamentals of 3D animation production.
