In order to progress in a degree programme with study abroad (and thus spend year three abroad), a candidate is required to demonstrate an adequate attainment in the major subject or subjects (normally obtaining assessment marks of at least 50 in the Level 4 and 60 overall in Level 5 science and maths units). |
Co-requisites |
None. |
School/department | School of Physics |
Faculty | Faculty of Science |
A year spent studying in an approved university abroad with a physics content sufficient to allow the possibility of progression into year 4 of an MSci programme, including distance learning of PHYS30030 Core Physics 303.
PHYS30030 Core Physics 303 is worth 30 credit points; the remaining 90 credit points are chosen by the student with the agreement of the School of Physics.
Have a knowledge and understanding of the core physics material from the level 6 MSci physics course at Bristol and be able to solve problems at this level.
Have a knowledge and understanding of further optional physics (or related) units as taught by the partner university and will be able to solve problems related to these courses.
Students will be able to cope with the challenges of living and studying in a foreign country.
Variable, as teaching is at the partner university.
Formative and Summative Assessment for the distance learning component as for unit PHYS30030 Core Physics 303.
Formative assessment on the remaining 90 credit points is predominantly carried out by the partner university. The students report on their progress to Bristol and receive feedback. Students also receive formative feedback on the report and the interview.
Summative Assessment on the remaining 90 credit points is comprised of:
