Description including Unit Aims

This unit builds on the work students undertake in Managing Change 1 in the first year of the programme. It raises the key issue of whether, in cases of transformational change, which are the aspiration of many organisational change programmes, the old organisation has died and a new one taken its place and whether this is always a desirable state of affairs. It introduces students to a new body of theory: institutional theory, chaos and complexity and some leadership theory. It explores an example of a successful change management initiative through the use of a $living case study&.
