Hanyu Cen

My name is Hanyu Cen and I have been studying in the University of Bristol since 2009. I did the International Foundation Programme, BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MSc Communication Networks and Signal Processing and now pursuing my PhD degree.

I chose to study at University of Bristol because it is part of the Russell Group and it is one of the most successful and famous universities in the UK. The university locates in a vibrant city and have amazing facilities. I also have the chance to communicate with people from all over the world.

The city of Bristol is old and young, filled with traditional British architecture and modern shopping malls. It is vibrant but not crowded. You can spend time studying in quiet places or having fun doing different activities with friends.

I’m living in a private student accommodation in central Bristol. It has modern facilities and 24-hour security services. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby and it only takes me 15 minutes’ walk to the university.

Apart from study, I like books, computers, history and travelling around. There are lots of nice places to visit around Bristol: Clifton Suspension Bridge, St Mary Radcliffe Church, etc. You can also take a 15 minutes’ train to Bath which is a well-known tourist city
