Coronavirus impact fund

Funding is available to support students who are experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The global pandemic has financially affected our students in many ways, including the loss of income from part-time employment and the increased costs of moving to online learning.

The University's coronavirus impact fund has been created in addition to our existing hardship funds to support students in financial difficulty.

What we can help with

We may be able to help if the pandemic has affected your income from employment or other sources. We could make a contribution towards your:

  • rent
  • food costs.

We may also be able to help you meet the costs of online learning. We could make a contribution towards the cost of:

  • buying a laptop
  • wifi and internet connectivity.

The fund cannot be used to help pay for tuition fees.

Who can apply

Any student experiencing financial hardship is eligible to apply for funding. This includes:

  • UK and international students
  • undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • full-time and part-time students.

How to apply

If you are struggling financially, contact a student funding adviser on, including a brief summary of your circumstances.

We will help you to access the most appropriate funding for you.
