Management development for Professional Services
We want to ensure that all staff taking on supervisory or people management responsibilities at UoB feel equipped and confident to do so. The following training opportunities will help new Professional Services managers to develop the skills they need to manage their staff and teams effectively.
The UoB Manager Induction programme
This 'build your own' development programme provides new managers with vital skills training, input from key UoB divisions and networking opportunities in the early days of their new role. Includes one mandatory induction module for new line managers plus other flexible modules.

Strategies for Managing Performance
This one-day training session, delivered by HR, is for any manager who is required to manage the performance of others. Learn how to create conditions for best performance, examine frameworks and best practice for use in real-life situations, and discover practical tools for managing high performers and poor performers. Academic Staff Development run in-house leadership programmes which are focused on exploring what is required to be an effective leader within academia. This includes both discovering what leadership means within your context as well as the more practical people and project management aspects of leadership.
