Female Leadership Initiative (FLi)
The Female Leadership Initiative is an internally-run leadership development programme. Its aim is to support those who identify as women, to develop their sense of personal agency and impact and build strong networks to support their development and career progression.
About the programme
FLi is aimed at women in professional services and academic roles at any level of the organisation, who wish to hone their level of self-awareness and personal insight in order to develop their personal leadership style and influence. The programme aims to address the underrepresentation of women at senior levels in the sector. It not only considers individual impact but also how to develop an authentic leadership style that works towards an inclusive and progressive workplace culture.
Using the concept of emotional intelligence to recognise how they understand themselves and relate to others, participants will identify ways to build strategies for developing personal resilience, and create strong, supportive networks that will sustain them during and beyond the duration of the programme.
If you are a potential candidate interested in attending the FLi 2019-20 programme, you will need the support of your line manager before submitting an Expression of Interest. There will be limited places available on the programme, and your Dean/Faculty Manager/Divisional Head will be involved in selecting who will participate from the pool of interested candidates.
This modular programme takes place over five months, incorporating face-to-face workshops with internal and external speakers, as well as action learning. The programme will focus on the following themes, however participants will have the opportunity to co-create the content, in order to make it as relevant and meaningful as possible.
- Gender, identity and authenticity in leadership
- Leading with emotional intelligence
- Leading with presence and impact
- Resilience and wellbeing in leadership
- Action learning set (self-organised)
Dates and times 2020
