Scoping, consensus building and raising awareness of gambling-related harms among rugby players in Wales

This project will scope the extent of gambling and gambling-related harms among rugby players in Wales. Three workshops, to take place in North, Mid, and South Wales, will be attended by representatives from university rugby teams, scholars, semi-professional, professional and ex-professional rugby players, and players with lived experiences. Workshops will raise awareness, consensus, build partnerships, and precede a comprehensive survey which will delve deeper into issues raised during the workshops.  The Seedcorn fund will support awareness-raising campaigns in the three regions, scoping research, data collection, travel and the recruitment of workshop hosts seen as representatives of the professional rugby community.

The project lead is Cerys Head (GREAT Network) at Swansea University.
