Mapping the data landscape in gambling harms research
Access to good-quality data for research purposes is crucial to build capacity in gambling harms research but at present there is no comprehensive source of information about the data sources that are available (or could be made available). This project intends to start filling this knowledge gap by mapping the data landscape for gambling harms research in Britain/the UK. It involves (1) desk research to map available and potential data sources that could be used to research gambling and gambling harms in Britain/the UK and (2) stakeholder interviews to identify any additional or potential data sources.
Project leads are Sharon Collard (Bristol Hub for Gambling Harms Research and Personal Finance Research Centre), Emmanouil Tranos (School of Geographical Sciences) and Jamie Evans (Personal Finance Research Centre) at the University of Bristol.
