Dr Raffaello Rossi and Dr Philip Newall take over co-leadership of the Hub

From 1 April, the Hub will enter an exciting new phase under the co-leadership of Dr Raffaello Rossi and Dr Philip Newall. Moving forward, the Hub will be fully funded by the University of Bristol and operate independently of external funding. This creates an opportunity to shape the Hub’s next chapter with renewed ambition and a clear strategic focus.

Looking ahead, the Hub will prioritise two key areas. First, it will invest in supporting early career researchers and helping to build the next generation of scholars in gambling harms research. Second, it will strengthen its focus on impact-driven research that can inform policy, practice and public debate. Both priorities will be pursued through a fully interdisciplinary lens, drawing together expertise from across the University and beyond.

Building on the strong foundations laid over recent years, the Hub will continue to develop Bristol’s role as a leading centre for interdisciplinary, inclusive and policy-relevant gambling harms research.

As the Hub enters this new chapter, please do feel free to get in touch and say hello to the new co-leads, Raffaello and Philip, via gambling-harms@bristol.ac.uk.
