Behavioural Interventions Group (BIG)
The BIG team brings together expertise across psychology, public health and social science. Our focus is on developing and evaluating interventions that promote sustainable, meaningful change to improve health outcomes.
We specialise in several key areas:
Behaviour Change Research
Our team has expertise in understanding the factors that drive health behaviours and identifying strategies that promote sustainable, positive change.
Co-creation
Central to our approach is the belief that interventions should be co-produced with those they are meant to support. We work closely with members of the public, healthcare professionals, and other coproduction partners to create interventions that are grounded in people’s real-world needs and experiences.
Digital Health
As digital technologies continue to transform healthcare, our team has extensive experience in co-designing and evaluating digital interventions, with a focus on making these technologies accessible, engaging, and effective for a wide range of people.
Qualitative Research
We recognise that understanding the experiences, perceptions, and needs of people who will use the interventions is essential for creating impactful interventions. Our team employs qualitative research methods to gather rich insights from diverse groups.
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
A cornerstone of our work is the commitment to ensuring that our interventions are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of diverse people and communities.
Implementation and Knowledge Translation
We are committed to translating research findings into real-world impact, that can be successfully adopted in clinical, community, and healthcare settings.
