The workshop bought together researchers from the University of Bristol, along with academics from across the South West for a day of discussions around three of MHCLG’s key areas of interest, Elections, Housing and Communities and Cohesion. We were pleased to welcome interdisciplinary researchers from University of Bristol, UWE, Bath, Exeter and Plymouth.
We were pleased to have Pro Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) for the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences Helen Simpson provide welcoming remarks followed by a keynote on the MHCLG ARI’s from MHCLG Chief Scientific Adviser Professor Richard Prager.
Facilitated discussion then took place, beginning with lightning pitches from both researchers and policymakers, followed by a deep dive into the topic posed by MHCLG to draw on the expertise around the table to co-develop potential approaches and next steps.
