Research Interests & Activities

My research is concerned with several aspects of superconductivity in novel materials. Superconductivity is an area of physics with clear and substantial commercial and technological applications. However, the underlying theme of my own research is to perform experiments which illuminate our understanding of the fundamental physics of these materials. The goal is build a basic understanding which will advance our knowledge of concepts in condensed matter physics as well as building a base for the development of applications.

There are two central themes. One is to gain an understanding of the nature of the low energy excitations in novel superconductors, and the other is to use quantum oscillatory and other effects to probe the electronic structure of these materials.
