Research interests
I am interested in the modulation of nociception by noradrenergic neurons in the pons of the brain. We use viral vectors, antagonists and agonists of receptors to manipulate and activate neurons so as to study their roles in nociceptive signal transmission in the central nerve system. Our study is aimed to shed light on the mechanisms of pain signal processing and how the endogenous analgesic system works.
