Research interests
My current research interest is in the transformation of border infrastructures through the application of new digital technologies. Applying methods inspired through Science and Technology Studies, I aim to understand how movements of goods and people are increasingly governed through automated systems.
In the Moving Domain at the ESRC Centre for Sociodigital Futures I am currently engaged in two projects on the delivery of the UK's Border Strategy 2025:
1) Seamlessness through automated identification and pre-travel authorisation,
2) Multi-modal risking through interoperability and machine learning algorithms.
My background is in border studies, geography, security studies, migration and international relations.
