Research interests
I am a social researcher interested in the experiences of disabled people and people living with chronic illness. My work adopts a social justice perspective and applies social scientific methods and theory to examine how policy, institutions, and services shape the life chances and opportunities of people affected by illness or impairment.
To date my research has examined distinct themes:
- Social care and care relationships
- Social security and welfare reform
- The interface of social security with other systems such as the NHS, social care, and Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunal Service.
