Research interests
Sophie is a PhD candidate in Mental Health Epidemiology and Immunopsychiatry funded by the NIHR Bristol BRC's Mental Health Theme and based within the University of Bristol's MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit. Her work focuses on the impact of early-life experiences on the immune system and risk prediction of subsequent mental illness. Her research interests also include allergic/atopic conditions and their associated mental health burden. Sophie holds an MSc in Epidemiology (LSHTM) and a BSc in Neuroscience (University of Nottingham). Before starting her PhD, Sophie worked for 10 years in scientific, research and communications roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
